U.S. Army Corp of Engineers (USACE) maintains and upgrades the Prado Basin and revisits its Master Land Use Plan every ten years. The Prado dam is a flood control basin reservoir located downstream of the Santa Anna river flood control system.
USACE’s overall goal was to develop a comprehensive GIS database that included existing data, the collection of new data, and finalized/cleaned up incomplete data. This GIS database is required to assist USACE in its master planning and other day-to-day operations, and employs cutting edge architecture that provides optimal performance and scalability.
VSolvit gathered analysis and built a geodatabase with the existing, cleaned up, and newly captured data along with maps. In addition, VSolvit delivered a geodatabase that included all the layers, tables, and raster data used to generate the maps along with the ArcGIS project files in (.MXD) format.
The interactive web application VSolvit created provided the tool to update the land ownership/real estate map as impacted properties are acquired. VSolvit designed and built the application based on a User Need Assessment Study so that the application serves the needs of the immediate users. The VSolvit team followed the User Need Assessment to define lifecycle data maintenance.
